I find that too often, we’re just going through the motions in our business. Checking off the tasks, without checking into our vision. (It’s not just me, right?!)

And I’ve never been good at visualization. I’ve done guided meditations where the prompt is to imagine your future self, visualize what you really want, etc.

Too often, my mind comes up blank. (Or rather, I think about everything EXCEPT the thing I’m supposed to be picturing.) Which makes me feel really frustrated. Talking through it almost always helps.

So if you feel like you have visionary energy, but are lacking in what the actual vision is, maybe you need a reframe.

I like to think of “dream big questions”—ones that are expansive, but also make that nebulous “vision” a bit more concrete. Like:

✧ If you could sponsor any brand or event, what would it be?

✧ If you could get a sponsorship from any brand, what would it be?

✧ If you received a grant for $200k, what would you do with it?

Not because you’re actually pursuing any of the above. (Although, if these speak to you, go for it!) But because placing a container around our thoughts can sometimes make us more creative, more action-oriented.

And sometimes, being left to our own devices just doesn’t cut it. We need outside perspective and empathetic accountability to go from idea to implementation.
